The affair
On the 31st I had an argument with my better half because I have been to Pretoria everyday since 27th and hints of a suspected infidelity were dropped and the fact that I had already spend over R200 on transport to Pretoria and I was still planning to go again.
The reason I was doing Pretoria yet again, I had to shave my head, I have been going to the same barber for the past 4 years he is the only guy that touches my head, my baby thinks I am being silly by travelling all this way for a hair cut.
I also had to collect a pair of sandals I had ordered from this shoemaker I discovered in the most dingiest part of Pretoria, known as marabastad, now this is were you find everything from muti to fine threads, you can negotiate the price on anything in the many Indian owned stores. If you are looking for a bargain this is the place to go hunting.

I waited for the guy to put on the last stitches on the sandals. From there I had to go and meet up with swanky a friend of mine who was going to join me at the new year’s eve celebration party. When my shoes were ready I headed to Sunnyside (suburb of Pretoria) for my haircut only to find the hair salon packed and a queue of about 8 people waiting for my barber, at that moment I decided to find another salon were I could be cut without waiting forever because I still had to return to Jo’burg.
This is one decision I have come to regret, from the moment I sat on the chair I felt like I was cheating. Since this guy didn’t understand the contours of my big head, he cut a piece of my ear. At that point I wanted to get out of the seat and go wait in the queue for Mohamed to be done with all the people in the queue. When he was done I felt like I was shaved by my grandmother with a pair of scissors, like she used to when I was younger.
Now I must wait a full month for my hair to grow so Mohamed doesn’t see the scar, I feel real bad for going to someone else.
